
Kirsten Komoroske is an Employment Matters Counseling & Consulting
LLP's Silicon Valley partner. Kirsten provides business and prelitigation
counseling, with a concentration on employment issues in emerging
companies and venture capital and private equity firms.
Kirsten’s practice has included both litigation
and counseling in the areas of employment, compensation, and various
business transactions. Kirsten’s experience includes jury
trials, arbitrations, and mediations, and she has appeared numerous
times in both state and federal court. Kirsten provides counseling
on various VC, fund, and emerging company issues, executive employment
and separation matters, proprietary information protection, non-competition
and non-solicitation issues, and human resources and employment
law issues in the U.S. and internationally. Kirsten has also conducted
numerous workplace investigations and trainings.
Prior to joining EMC2, Kirsten
worked for a large, Chicago-based hedge fund, providing employment,
venture capital and private equity, and corporate advice. Before
her work at the hedge fund, Kirsten practiced employment law at
the Silicon Valley firm of Cooley Godward Kronish LLP, representing
early stage and public companies in both employment counseling and
litigation matters. Prior to joining Cooley, Kirsten was General
Counsel and Vice President of Human Resources at Tyco Electronics,
a $15 billion division of Tyco International Ltd. At Tyco Electronics,
Kirsten’s responsibilities included legal, HR, and mergers
and acquisitions work.
Before joining Tyco Electronics, Kirsten was corporate
counsel at Raychem Corporation in Menlo Park. Prior to joining Raychem,
Kirsten was an employment litigator, first at Crosby, Heafey, Roach
& May in Oakland, and then at Murphy & Beers in Emeryville.
Kirsten received a law degree in 1992 from Santa
Clara University and a B.A. in Italian from the University of California
at Berkeley in 1989.
